Our friend, by happenstance, was the sole tenant of a grand house in Langside on Cathkin Road, and we couldn’t resist the opportunity to use its spacious rooms to record in before other tenants arrived we could disturb.
We recorded on several days, mostly just experimenting and jamming. Our most successful recording was of my friend and fellow Student, Conor Madden playing a piece he’d written for piano on the resident (and surprisingly in tune!) upright.

For the sampled recording above, we moved the Piano out into the stairwell which had a lovely natural reverb, placing the Line Audio CM4s in a stereo spaced pair on the back of the piano, with an AKG P420 in omni configuration on the landing of the stairwell.
